John 1 what does it mean

It was about four in the afternoon. Jesus looked at him and said, 'You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas' which, when translated, is Peter. Finding Philip, he said to him, 'Follow me. Can anything good come from there? Jesus answered, 'I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.

You will see greater things than that. We need to give an answer to those who sent us. You are the King of Israel! You will see greater things than these. Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not.

Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. What sayest thou of thyself? They said unto him, Rabbi, which is to say, being interpreted, Master, where dwellest thou? They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Philip saith unto him, Come and see. Jesus is Light, and in Him, there is no darkness or sin. The Greek word for Light is Phos , any and every form of light. Metaphorically, God is light because light has an extremely pure, brilliant quality. Light can be seen by any and all.

Darkness hides, conceals, and covers, while light exposes truth. Light is powerful and far-reaching, able to illuminate everything. When we seek God, we will find Him. He is faithful to illuminate Truth in our daily lives. In Christ, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we walk daily in the light of life. Christ-followers often speak of walking through life with Christ, but John literally reclined on Him at the Last Supper. In writing the letter of 1 John, the apostle and faithful friend of Jesus separated the appearance and manner of a soulfully following Christ, as opposed to one only speaking the words.

John witnessed the true effect of a changed heart after Christ. Father in heaven, I worship and praise Your holy name for Your wonderful plan of salvation. He came to earth willingly, in human flesh, so that a sinner such as I may be redeemed by His precious blood.
