They get literally nothing out of it other than good karma. The entire staff of this company is suddenly unemployed and your biggest concern is a rearranged work schedule. Talk about narcissistic. Thank you TS. People have lost their jobs. Many more companies have stepped up as an OCR family. Whoa TS calm down. Super sad news!! Out of the mud races Warrior Dash was by far better then all other I have done!!!
So very sorry to hear this news!!! I was a massive supporter of WD until They got rid of timing saying that more people wanted bigger obstacles like the giant water slide. In addition, they were actually hammering together one of the obstacles as people were on it. I remember writing them saying wtf happened. They gave me a discount for the next year but were adamant they were on the right path. This sucks. I finally convinced my wife to get in shape and we were using the warrior dash this september as her goal.
I was really looking forward to doing this with her. The Indiana race has always had massive crowds. Look at it as an opportunity to try a different race. There are so many out there. Good luck on your journey!! Come try out a Spartan Race! It will still keep you focused on your goals and you will get to experience an event and a community that is awesome!
Come try a Spartan! I am blown away that red Frog failed to adapt to the changing OCR market to stay strong. Hopefully Rugged Maniac joins in as well. Rugged Maniac and Conquer the Gauntlet are also offering free races to those who were registered for Warrior Dash events.
There were not as many people there as there were in previous years, the race said when you signed up there would be at least 8 obstacles on the race, there were only 5, and they were honestly ones that anyone could do, nothing challenging at all.
When they started up in OCR was not really a big sport but it is now and you have to be able to provide obstacles that people are going to be challenged by. They are correct they are easier than they were 8 years ago, but they started making it easier as they lowered the age to participate and adding more safety to it. Granted 8 years ago there was only 1 water event, 1 water stop on a 95 degree day. So they came a long way. However, what about the money I raised for St. People gave me donations in good faith.
So you are all good on that front. Do any of the other races allow 10 year olds to run with parents? That is what I was going to do in September.
I am beyond bummed. This one going to be last hoorah before my upcoming surgery and quite possibly my last OCR ever. This is not surprising. Our group has been doing Warrior Dash for years and continued to do it because it was fun for the group together, but the last few years the obstacles changed they were not challenging at all , the locations of the races changed not for the better and the after party this last year was just lame!
They used to have a band and fun contests with prizes, etc. I agree with this. The first two were awesome and then they went downhill from there. Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last.
Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!
I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" as it was an hour away. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down ski hills which was incredibly brutal, hot, and not what I signed up for.
The obstacles were almost all climb up and over ropes or tent shaped structures, or under wire. There was only 1 water obstacle halfway through and one decent mud pit at the very end.
I would not do this run again for this price with the venue and obstacles. There was only 1 food vendor and the line was painfully long for average food. This event could have been sooo much better. Of the 12 'new' obstacles, 5 of them didn't exist. Granted they gave each one a different name but they were essentially the same obstacle. We ran at so El Capitan was closed for safety, which is understandable.
But after running past it, I didn't mind missing out on it since it was essentially a huge slide. Not a big slide into water or muddy water, just a big slide, nothing fun to look forward to at the bottom. I think they got lucky it rained so much before the race or it really would have been just a dirt run with a few cheap obstacles. Although I didn't mind the t-shirt design, they were cheap. For a 10th Anniversary Tour, you'd think they would have gone all out but it seems like they phoned this one in.
This was our last Warrior Dash for sure. Seems like the yare making it easier every year. You get a lot for your money from beginning to end.
I love running these races and cannot wait for them to come around again This was such a blast. It was my first time ever doing an OCR. A friend did it with me, his first time also. It was a great one to start out with I think. We definitely got to run, get muddy, climb over, under and through things and drink beer! Great volunteers and other runners! Very fun time. No Offer for refunds. There is nothing tri-state about an eastern Long Island Location.
Choose another organization for your mud run adventures. I enjoyed the obstacles but hated all the hills. I think you should be told about the hills. That first one is a big one! Also the lack of water stations was very disappointing. There was one at the beginning and not another one till almost the end. Neither the medics or volunteers had any to hand out either. I was completely dehydrated by the end of the course. First experience with Warrior Dash. Took up a volunteer shift from , got let off our shift at , and I figured me and my buddy would have enough time to go back to our car for our race gear, com3 back and change, use the porta potty, and drop off our bag at bag check before racing.
We got to the start line at only to be told the last wave of racers was let through at 1pm and we weren't allowed to race.
