All of these Ratings have the same "point cost" when determining the level of an item. See the article on Item values for an in-depth discussion. For comparison, 1 point of Block Value, which decreases the damage taken when a block occurs by 1, costs 0. Resilience reduces the effects of all types of critical hits both physical and spell crits from players or mobs. Historical Note: Prior to Patch 3. Thus, for druid tanks, resilience could actually be more useful than defense to reach crit immunity with the talent, a raid boss's crit chance at level 70 was 2.
This is no longer true as of patch 3. The conclusion is that if your goal is to become a crit-immune druid, you can swap 60 defense rating for So this trade off gives you the same crit immunity and gives even slightly better damage mitigation because of the use of Agility. This trade-off is also good for the extra crit and armor, which are both useful for feral tanks. Looking at normal stats of defense rating and resilience on armor and weapons, it is easier to get crit immunity through resilience than through defense.
This is not true for Warriors and Paladins as they can Block and Parry and therefore get much more benefit from defense rating than feral druids. Each time you go up a level, the amount of rating needed to get the same benefit will increase. An example of the scaling involved would be the current implementation of Agility which has always worked this way in the live game, requiring more agility for the same critical strike chance as you go up in level.
As of patch 3. The to formula may change in future patches, but is current as of Patch 3. Actual speed is increased.
Prior to version 2. Instead, items had equip and on-use bonuses that increased the underlying value directly. For example, instead of increasing the wearer's Crit Rating by 14 and the wearer's Dodge Rating by 12, the old pre When Blizzard made the conversion to 2. Conversions that would have resulted in a fractional Rating were rounded down to the nearest whole number; e. Post away! Log in , it's free! I wouldn't throw agility out the window just yet. In the scope of crit rating, it's pretty minimal.
However, every point of agility also contributes to evade and parry, so capping Agility would have other benefiets. Multiplying by a power of 2, on the other hand, is extremely fast because you can bit shift instead of perform multiplication binary FTW.
I'm curious how Lead the Charge, at it's traits, affects crit chance of skills, especially when a player is near level cap. That's an experiment where I'm going to grab a combat log parser whatever program that may be and spend several Saturdays running the dailies for the Mirkwood stars, Gathburz, and skirmishes to generate well formed data.
Aug 14 , PM Join Date Jun Posts 5, The bonus to evade and parry is minimal, and if we can take anything from what we know of stats, so is the chance to hit. It's the worst stat imo for anything PvE. I find i can maintain agi while focusing on other stats that i think are more important like vit might, and will.
Focusing directly on agi usually ends up gimping all the other stats. Hele set will actually boost my agility by 28 i think it was just by coincidence. I am worried about the loss in vitality though 99 is a lot to lose for 6 hele pieces hopefully using 4 hele only with 2 of another set will make up some of the vit loss.
There was a time I kept agi and might capped though while pvmping in the moors I later learned it gimped me on other areas where I needed balance. Aug 15 , AM Re: Crit Rating and Crit Percentage I considered the sergeant at arms armlet for some time, and finally came to the conclusion due to my own issues with power that losing As for tolloch vs hoop of combat You trade a little of everything to get 20agi.
A little morale lost, a little might lost, a little vit lost, a little icmr lost, all you really gain is 40 rating in each of the ones you listed. Since banners lose ish morale now it may also seem more important to banner users soon. When the hoop of combat first came out I honestly considered it but trading that many bonus's and a nice chunk of morale for 20 agi still doeskin appeal to me.
Oct 09 , PM Anyone else confirm this? Oct 10 , AM Re: Crit Rating and Crit Percentage I forgot the name of the thread but the crit cap is which makes mathematical sense since it's merely the target level x 70 with being crit cap against lvl 65s.
